So it's been a month since I left America! Crazy! It has gone by sooo fast! First, I wanted to say a couple things. First, I am not able to check my account connected with this blog so if you have been sending me personal comments I have not been receiving them, but please e-mail me at Kelsey_burr@hotmail.com. OK so now about this week! I got to work in an orphanage in Johannesburg this week for a couple of days. It takes about an hour and a half to get there, but wow is it worth it. I get to hold babies and play with toddlers. There's this 4 month old baby boy who just stole my heart. His name is Umpho (forgive me for the spelling), which means gift in English. His mom tried to kill him as a baby because he was the result of a rape. I just sit and hold him for hours and he just smiles and talks. He is soo big for a four month old and already has two teeth! He's just absolutely precious!

Besides that, I got a little homesick this week. I don't have a lot of time to think about it which is good. They keep us very busy. I think I just miss the comforts that we have in America. We don't realize how blessed we truly are until we experience something like this. I have forgotten how nice it is to have the opportunity to just take a hot shower. Ha ha I shower about 2 or 3 times a week and it's always cold water.

It's definitely been a time of surrendering my life. My rights that I thought I had before. I just want to lay my life in God's hands and grow in him. I really feel like I've grown up so much in just the month that I've been here. God's really doing amazing things in me and I'm growing so much as a person.
I'm just thankful to God for bringing me here. I know his main purpose was to change my heart. I'm just blessed to have the opportunity to share that with others here in Africa.

Tonight we have our youth group for some South African youth. I'm giving my testimony tonight, but I am a little worried. Whenever I seem to talk about Ashton I always cry. That's another thing I've really been focusing on lately is just dealing with the loss of my sister. How to get through it while still remembering her. I've thought of so many more memories that I had with her just while I've been there. I really can't wait for the day to get to heaven and see her again though!

Thank God for this experience. It's really amazing! I've seen more of Africa than I ever thought I would. It has been absolutely incredible. I'll have so many stories to share with all of you when I come back to America in December! Time is flying by though.. only two months left.

Thank you again to everyone who has supported me. I would not be able to have this experience if it was not for your generosity. Thank you soo much! This experience has truly changed my life!
